I guess as I get more and more into this blogging thing, I should clarify a bit about me.
What I am NOT
I am not a Dr, a Nutritionist or a professional in the health field. I am just sharing my own passion for food and health and what I've learned over the years.
I am also not the typical homeschool mom... OR the stereotypical "cool" mom. My husband and I are strict in many ways, just not always the ways that most people are. We seem to value different things than a lot of people.
Fitness Instructor
I am a certified Group Fitness Instructor through AFAA. I am saving away so that I can become a certified personal trainer (not sure I want that as a job, but I really want the deeper knowledge!) I am licensed to teach Zumba and have been teaching it for 3 1/2 years! I LOVE it so much. I also recently added pump class and interval classes to my teaching schedule.
Wife
I am the wife of a very awesome man. He is the love of my life, my soul mate... all that sappy stuff. It is absolutely glorious having a man who is such an amazing husband that my daughters' requirements for a future spouse is a man "Just like Dad." We'll celebrate our 18th anniversary this year! EIGHTEEN YEARS!
Mom
I have five children, ages 10, 13, 14, 15 & 19. Our 19 year old doesn't quite live at home much anymore. She nannies and tends to stay with the families that she works for. We homeschool and always have. The kids are all fabulous, awesomely interesting people and every one of them seems to be completely different from the next! Its crazy how much we're all so different. It works well, though.
Writer
I have written three plays that were performed at our local community theater. I adapted the first one from a book I wrote in 2009 called "Rapunzel's Story". The plays were successful, the book, not so much because I really STINK at marketing myself!!
Teacher
I teach Art, Drama and a Fitness & Nutrition Class at our homeschool co-op. I adore working with teenagers. They make my life so much better!! That is probably my OTHER other passion, working with teens. I hope to be a good role model for thinking outside the box and teaching kids not to try so hard to "fit in" but rather find what fits them.
